We are committed to living out the values of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to love God, love others, and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
We are committed to loving God and loving others, and to be known for our love for one another.
We strive to glorify God through worship that is rooted in scripture, and that draws us closer to Him.
We are called to serve our community and those in need, through both physical and spiritual acts of love and kindness.
We seek to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all people, and to share the gospel through both deed and word.
We prioritize the practice of discipling others in the faith, helping them to grow in their understanding of the Bible and their relationship with God.
We strive to be wise stewards of the resources God has given us, using them to meet the needs of the church and community.
We strive to be a holy people, living in obedience to God’s Word and in surrender to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
We seek to fulfill the Great Commission, making disciples of Jesus Christ in our region and beyond.
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. The Word of God is the foundation upon which this church operates and is the basis for which this church is governed. We believe that the Word of God supersedes any earthly law that is contrary to the Holy Scriptures. (Isaiah 28:13; Nehemiah 8:8; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe that there is one living and true GOD, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all things. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Hebrews 9:14)
We believe in the person of God the Father, an Infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalms 90:2; Psalms 102:27; John 4:24; 1 Timothy 1:17; Titus 1:3)
We believe in the person of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, his substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal, visible return to earth. (Isaiah 7:14; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:23; Mark 16:19; Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1-2; John 8:58; John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 1:2; Revelation 1:8)
We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, Who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide. (Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 3:18; John 16:8-11; Romans 15:13,16; Hebrews 9:14).
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. (John 14:16-17, 16:8-11).
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all Biblical gifts of the Spirit. (1 Corinthians 14).
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and, therefore, are under condemnation; that God regenerates based upon faith by the Holy Spirit, those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord. (Acts 8:15-17; Titus 3:5)
We believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all who are born again are members. (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:15-16)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church: (a) full immersion water baptism, and (b) the Lord’s Supper. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ which is His personal, visible return to earth and the establishment of His millennial kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless suffering of the wicked. (Matthew 16:27; Acts 1:11; Rev. 19:11-16, 20:11-15).
We believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church where all believers will meet the Lord in the air and be taken out of this world prior to the Tribulation that will come upon the earth. (Matthew 24:29-31; Luke 21:36; Romans 1:18, 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; 2 Peter 2:7-9; Revelation 5:7-10, 7:13-14).
We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell and that all those who place their faith, hope and trust in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord, while those who reject Jesus’ free gift of salvation will spend eternity separated from the Lord in Hell. (Matthew 5:3, 25:31-34; Hebrews 12:23; 1 Peter 1:4; Psalm 9:17; Matthew 5:22, 18:9; Luke 12:5).
We believe in the pattern and principle of male leadership and responsibility in both the home and the church, according to the sacrificial example of Jesus. We believe this limits the roles of pastoral leadership and doctrinal authority to qualified men (I Corinthians 11:1-12; I Timothy 2:1-15). We believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all who are born again are a part of the Body of Christ. (I Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:15-16)
We believe that marriage is exclusively the legal union of one man and one woman. We also believe that legitimate biblical sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hence, sexual activities such as, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, incest, polygamy, homosexuality, transgender, bisexuality, cross-dressing, pedophilia and bestiality are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible and the Church. Further, lascivious behavior, the creation, viewing and/or distribution of pornography and efforts to alter one’s gender are incompatible with a true biblical witness. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; I Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11,18-20, 7:1-3,8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; I Timothy 1:9-11)
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person (Genesis 1:26-27).
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Benton Bible Church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the community it serves, it is imperative that all persons employed by Benton Bible Church, in any capacity or who serve as volunteers, agree to abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matthew 5:16, Philippians 2:14-16, 1 Thessalonians 5:22).
We believe that every person should be treated with compassion, love, kindness, and respect, and be afforded the dignity that is inherently theirs by virtue of being made in God’s image. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are neither in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Benton Bible Church. (Genesis 1:26-27; Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31)
Because God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between a man, a woman, and Himself, Benton Bible Church will only recognize marriages between a biological man and a biological woman. Further, the Pastors and staff of Benton Bible Church shall only officiate and/or participate in weddings and solemnize marriages between one man and one woman. Finally, the facilities and property of Benton Bible Church shall only host weddings between one man and one woman.
We believe that the Bible teaches that life begins at conception. It is morally wrong to take the life of an unborn infant. (Psalm 139:13-14, Jeremiah 1:5, Genesis 1:27, Exodus 20:13)
After serving 12 years on staff at two Calvary Chapels, the Lord made it unmistakably clear that He was calling our family to plant a church in Northwest Arkansas. The leadership at Calvary Chapel East Anaheim graciously affirmed that calling, prayed over us, and sent us out with their blessing and prayer support.
Long before church planting was ever on our radar, God had already given Pastor Mike and Shauna a deep love for Northwest Arkansas. Looking back, it’s no surprise. As we sought to delight ourselves in the Lord, He truly gave us the desires of our hearts. With five kids in tow and a lot of faith in God’s leading, we stepped out, trusting that if He was guiding this work, He would also provide for it.
And He has.
Through the generosity of a few faithful supporters and the unmistakable hand of God, every need has been met—often above and beyond what we could have imagined. We left California on November 3, 2023, and almost immediately the Lord opened the door for us to meet in a building near XNA airport. Our very first service was held on February 4, 2024—a day we will never forget.
It feels like we are only just beginning to see what God has planned for this season.
If you don’t already have a church home and are looking for a community of believers who genuinely desire to love and serve Jesus, we would love for you to visit. None of us has “arrived.” We all long to be like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but sanctification is a lifelong journey. We are committed to obeying God’s Word wholeheartedly, while extending the same grace to others that the Lord continually extends to us.
We hold fast to the promise of Hebrews 4:16—that we can “draw near to the throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” That verse has anchored our family through every step of this church-planting journey.
Please keep this new work in your prayers. And if you’d like to hear more of our story, we’d love to meet you for coffee. Feel free to reach out at info@bentonbible.church
